Madi + Morgan ~ Ancora Real Wedding

Madi + Morgan certainly prove that your wedding day doesn’t have to be exactly as you planned it to be one of the best day of your lives. This wedding day was anything but traditional, but we absolutely loved being apart of such an intimate and fun celebration of Madi + Morgan’s love.

ABOUT THE DAY ~

Our wedding was a bit unconventional thanks to Covid! We had originally planned to get married in June 2020, however due to living in Melbourne and being in lockdown most of the year we had to reschedule our wedding multiple times, before eventually deciding to get married at home in our lounge room with a total of 5 guests just hours before going into stage 4 lockdown. We decided to reschedule the celebration at Ancora to a date later in the year and rather than having a typical wedding with the full ceremony and bells and whistles, we kept it lowkey and invited just our nearest and dearest.

THE WEDDING STYLE ~

Minimalist… Unfortunately due to Covid and having to reschedule multiple times, we ended up canceling a lot of our original plans and kept it extremely low key to avoid any further rescheduling or cancellations. Most of our styling, decorations and suppliers were unfortunately canceled to save costs and save the logistical hassle if we were unable to go ahead with the day.

WHY ANCORA ~

We fell in love with the venue before even seeing it in person! The space is beautiful without needing many additional decorations. It has plenty of natural light and the ambiance on the deck at night time is just magical! The staff at Ancora went above and beyond to welcome us at our first meeting and made us feel extremely comfortable and looked after, we knew instantly that the venue was perfect for our special day.

THE BEST PART ~

How beautiful the space is at Ancora, from the balcony, the bar and the beautiful vine covered pergola outside. Everywhere you look is a picture perfect space.

FAVOURITE THING ON THE MENU ~

Too many to choose! All of the food was amazing, the quality and variety was exceptional. We had the shared menu. The fish and the lamb from the mains was a big hit for most of our guests.

A SPECIAL MOMENT ~

Definitely during speeches, looking around at all of our closest family and friends and feeling incredibly lucky and filled with love.

WEDDING PLANNING TOP TIP ~

Try not the get too swept up in all of the stress of it all and the superficial aspects of a wedding. Just remember what the day is all about!

THE STAND OUT ~

A massive stand out would have to be the staff at Ancora. They made the whole day completely seamless and stress free. They were all so kind and accommodating and were always one step ahead.
