Rachel + Shane – Ancora Wedding

Rachel + Shane brought a whole lotta colour, love and fun to a rainy day at Ancora, and we couldn’t be more down for it! Despite the gloomy clouds and a relocated indoor ceremony, the rain cleared to allow the bridal party to head to Snapper Rocks for some epic beach photos, before a bridal party entrance to be remembered for a long time to come. Everything a wedding should be and more, our gorgeous Bride Rachel shares more memorable moments from their dream day.

The Wedding Day ~

We were planning on having our ceremony outside in the park beside Ancora. On the day, we had a lot of constant rain which caused puddles all through the park. We made the call pretty early on in the day to move it inside and to be honest, part of me was a little sad. Looking back now, I couldn’t have imagine it any other way. We LOVED the ceremony inside. It made it feel so intimate, cosy and comfortable and we’re just so glad we had a rainy day that had pushed us to have it inside. We really feel it made our ceremony!

Why Ancora ~

We love spending time in Tweed and especially on the Tweed River so when I discovered Ancora it was a no brainer! We actually hadn’t even looked through Ancora before we booked it, we’d just peeped our heads in the windows. We loved the fact it was on the river, we could have our ceremony and reception in the one place, accomodation was close by and we loved the white, Mediterranean vibe of the inside!

The Best Part ~

The service was so great. I was always being checked in on if I needed another cocktail and what my favourite meal was and that was a special touch by the staff. We also loved the food!!

Fave Thing on the Menu ~

The squid was unreal! We also loved the lamb and the fish.

A Special Moment ~

During dinner, the song “My Happiness – Powderfinger” come on and I don’t think there was one person out of our 80 guests not singing along at the top of their lungs and swaying. That was just such a cool moment you could never plan for.
