As a wedding photographer I go to lots of venues, Ancora is without doubt one of the best in my area. It has a beautiful modern look and the staff are a so helpful + friendly.
My daughter and now son-in-law got married on the weekend and after the trials and tribulations of Covid, arriving at Ancora was like entering another world! The staff were warm, friendly, helpful yet non intrusive. The coordinator regularly checked in to see if everything was ok and was on hand all evening to help. The food was to die for! Fabulous, tasty, beautifully served and there was plenty for everyone. Thank you all for making this day a lifetime memory full of joy.

Friendly service, beautiful food (including salt and pepper squid to die for) and very timely meal service with drink top-ups as required. They also did very well with lactose-free alternatives. Ancora helped make this wedding such a delightful evening.

Top location for small to medium weddings/bdays/events. My wife and I highly recommend this venue as the food selection at the wedding we attended was 6 stars along with the selection of beverages. With the venue right on the water the views were amazing and the sea breeze that blew through kept everyone nice and cool. The bathrooms facilities were a good size (both male and female) and were kept in good clean condition. There was a good amount of onsite parking but we recommend staying local and Uber or taxi in.
From the moment I walked into the venue to check it out I knew it was the one. It had the perfect balance with the grassed area outside for the ceremony so that no one had to travel through to the reception with the balcony by the water for those who wanted to chat/ get away from the band and then of course the stunning inside for those who wanted to dance the night away. The banquet food was absolutely amazing, with everyone too full to finish! The service was terrific, I had someone behind me ready to top up my glass whenever I was getting low.

The staff at Ancora were so professional, accommodating and beyond lovely. From the first email to the goodbyes the night at the wedding, every staff member involved was great. Whoever is in charge of the menu is amazing and is a true talent. All of our guests were so impressed with the standard of food and Tyrone and myself were so impressed with the variety we had to choose from. I wish our reception never finished it was just a blast. A benefit of having a cocktail wedding was the dance floor started early in the night and did not stop. It was a truly unforgettable day with all of most loved.
Ancora did such an amazing job – I have been raving about them and their team ever since! Our reception ran so smoothly and I kept looking around in awe of how beautiful it looked. The staff were absolutely amazing and I felt so well looked after on the night, they really paid attention to the little things. They didn’t approach me with any issues or questions on the night (I was blissfully unaware!) and they really went out of their way to make sure it was a fun, relaxing and stress-free night for Ethan and I. And the food! Oh my goodness. The delicious catering by Taverna had to be one of the highlights for sure.
After visiting Ancora at the Tweed Wedding Trail at the beginning of the year we absolutely fell in love. We wanted an outdoor ceremony and came across a beautiful park at the Point Danger Lookout. The park was perfectly named ‘Lovers Rock Park’ and it was stunning!
My husband and I were married in August and had our reception at Ancora. We loved that we could personalise our wedding to suit our theme – simple but elegant. The venue looked so beautiful at night with the fairy lit tree and with the extra fairy lights that we added on the balcony. The food was amazing! Prior to booking Ancora, we checked out Taverna – their sister restaurant in Kingscliff which serves a ‘chefs table’ menu similar to that served on our wedding night at Ancora. The food definitely won us over making us book the very next day! There was plenty of it and our guests went home with very happy tummies. If you’re looking for a romantic, open, waterfront venue, we would recommend Ancora.
One of our favourite moments of the day was sitting at the Reception together at the bridal table and looking over the Reception there was so much happiness in the air with all our guests faces filled with joy, the room was lit with candlelight and was more than we ever could have imagined and we were so happy that the dream day we had hoped for had all come together and we were married! I remember we looked at each over and just said “this is so perfect!” It was such a magical moment to be able to sit back and take it all in as Husband and Wife.
