The reception space is so beautiful. The fairy lights against the sunsetting on the river is just gorgeous. There is so much space both on the deck and the whiskey bar for people to hang out. Such a great venue.
Overall it was such a perfect day. it was our dream come true! “From the moment we walked into Ancora back on the Tweed Wedding Trail in January, we knew we had found the perfect venue. It was the first place we went to on the trail actually (because we wanted to try baked at Ancora haha) and we never left or saw any of the others on the trail. The ceremony and reception set-up was exactly what we were going for. Simple, yet elegant and inviting. We can’t fault and wouldn’t change anything about the day.
Now a moment for the food and service. I have never been to a wedding before that has offered such friendly hospitality. Everyone on the night that was serving drinks or food was so friendly and welcoming, so please thank everyone for us! The food was outstanding and wow, so much food!!! The banquet was DELICIOUS. Everyone couldn’t stop talking about the canapés too – pork belly and calamari were our favourites.

They handed over to each other so well, we were never asked the same question twice. They were efficient, got back to us in a timely manner, and so lovely when we met in person.
The venue itself is absolutely STUNNING, everyone has been talking for days about how beautiful the fairy lights over the river and lit-up tree were. We didn’t even have to arrange additional florals as the venue was beautiful enough as is.”

“Top location for small to medium weddings/bdays/events. My wife and I highly recommend this venue as the food selection at the wedding we attended was 6 stars along with the selection of beverages. With the venue right on the water the views were amazing and the sea breeze that blew through kept everyone nice and cool. The bathrooms facilities were a good size (both male and female) and were kept in good clean condition. There was a good amount of onsite parking but we recommend staying local and Uber or taxi in.”

It had the perfect balance with the grassed area outside for the ceremony so that no one had to travel through to the reception with the balcony by the water for those who wanted to chat/ get away from the band and then of course the stunning inside for those who wanted to dance the night away. The venue looked so beautiful at night with the fairy lit tree and with the extra fairy lights that we added on the balcony. The food was amazing! Prior to booking Ancora, we checked out Taverna – their sister restaurant in Kingscliff which serves a ‘chefs table’ menu similar to that served on our wedding night at Ancora. The food definitely won us over making us book the very next day! There was plenty of it and our guests went home with very happy tummies. If you’re looking for a romantic, open, waterfront venue, we would recommend Ancora.”
